    Characteristics: white to yellow-white crystals or crystalline powder. Odorless or slightly smelly, slightly bitter. Melting point 289 degrees (decomposition). Long hours of light are colored. The co-heat with water generates a small amount of helium, such as heating in the presence of sodium hydroxide, copper sulfate, and produces a large amount of helium. Tryptophan and acid are heated in the dark and are relatively stable. It is easily decomposed when coexisting with other amino acids, sugars and aldehydes. If there is no hydrocarbon coexistence, it is still stable with 5mol/L sodium hydroxide heated to 125 degrees. When the protein is decomposed with an acid, tryptophan is completely decomposed to generate a humus black material. Slightly soluble (1.1g/100ml, 25 degrees). Soluble in hot water, hot ethanol, dilute hydrochloric acid and alkaline hydroxide solution. Is an essential amino acid.
