Origin: This product is a dried ripe fruit of Cnidium monnieri (L.) Cuss. In the summer and autumn, when the fruit matures, it is harvested, removed impurities and dried.

Harvested from July to August, the fruits were harvested and dried.

Characters Double hanging fruit small, oval-shaped, length 2 ~ 4mm, diameter of about 2mm. The surface is grayish-yellow or gray-brown, with two outwardly curved plinths at the top and occasional fine stems at the base. The back of the flap has 5 thin, protruding longitudinal ribs with flat mating surfaces and 2 brown ridges with slightly raised vertical ridges. Peel crisp; seeds are small, gray brown, oily. It is fragrant, cool and has a flaccid feel.

The chemical composition contains terpenes, bornyl isovalarate, osthol, dihydroausillin, berapten, cnidiadin, isoallergin (isopimpinellin) and so on.

Product traits Yellow-green powder or white crystalline powder, gas aroma, cool and cool, with a lingual sensation.

Physical and chemical properties Osthol melting point and melting degree: mp.83 °C ~ 84 °C, bp.145 °C ~ 150 °C, soluble in methanol, ethanol, chloroform, acetone, ethyl acetate and boiling petroleum ether, insoluble in water and petroleum ether .
