【Appearance】: Brown powder
【Product Details】: This product is a dry aerial part or root of the Compositae Cirsium japonicum DC. In the summer and autumn, when the flowers bloom, they cut the top part of the ground, or excavate the roots in the fall to remove impurities and dry them.
【Characteristics】: yarrow
The stem has a cylindrical shape with a base diameter of up to 1.2 cm; the surface is greenish-brown or tan, with several longitudinal ribs and filiform hairs; the section is gray-white and the pith is loose or hollow. The leaves are shriveled and broken, and the intact leaves show an inverted lanceolate or obovate ellipse after flattening. The feathers are deep and the edges have unequal acupunctures; the upper surface is grayish green or yellow-brown, with a lower surface color. Shallow, with grayish white hairs on both sides. Inflorescences terminal, globose or elliptic, purplish-brown in color, and feathery grayish white. Gas slightly, tasteless. The big axillary roots are long spindle-shaped, often clustered and twisted, 5 to 15 cm long and 0.2 to 0.6 cm in diameter. Dark brown surface, irregular longitudinal wrinkles.
